Chevron Island mural

MURAL CONCEPT

Chevron Island is the gateway to the Gold Coast — a fabulous spot to eat and meet and a treasured destination for locals. Positioned on Kombumerri country, the island has changed names over the years, from its original Yugambeh name to Goat Island by the British in the 1820s, then Chevron Island in the 1950s.

To complement the transition of its name changes, and reflect the island’s tropical vibe, I chose colour gradients that locals would be familiar with — the apricot tones of sunrise and sunset, golden yellows of palms and frangipanis, and aquamarine blue of surrounding tranquil waters.

OUTCOME

The result is a beautifully balanced lettering mural that welcomes visitors to Chevron Island’s shores, inviting you to stay and while and idle through the many shops and restaurants. This design is a case study to show potential client work, and is available for your Chevron Island location.
